Our Story

After my wife and I got married in 1990 the first thing we got was a Labrador Retriever and we have been proud owners of retrievers for over 30 years.

I spend all my free time, energy, and effort training my dogs to compete in AKC Field Trials and Hunt Tests.

I have had the honor of earning an AFG (Amateur Field Champion) field trial title and numerous Master Hunter titles, and an MAR (Master Amateur Retriever) hunt test title. I dabble in the HRC world, but my main efforts are in AKC events.

I judge AKC Hunt Tests and Field Trials.

I am a very active, and now the longest active member, of the Treasure State Retriever Club.

I have the honor of holding the Communication Director, ex officio position with the Master Amateur Retriever Club.

I also have an active YouTube channel with a focus on the Amateur retriever trainer, a Podcast called The Amateur Retriever Podcast, and general videos full of training tips.
